EXPERIENCED ASBESTOS REMOVAL SUPERVISOR AND OPERATIVES

Due to the expansion of the company, Hereford Asbestos Services require an experienced Asbestos Removal Supervisor for contracts throughout the country and preferably live within a 50 mile radius of Hereford although this is not essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in removing asbestos from ceilings, walls, floors and other structures
  • Review job specifications, inspect work sites, and confer with contracting agents to evaluate removal project
  • Estimate length of time, number of workers and equipment and supplies required to accomplish project
  • Instruct workers in health and safety and removal procedures
  • Assign and supervise workers in specific tasks, such as set up of equipment and removal and clean-up of asbestos
  • Monitor and inspect quality of work during the project
  • Examine workers equipment, such as respiratory systems, air evacuation and filtration systems, and air quality testing devices, to ensure that they meet company and government safety standards
  • Maintain project records and order supplies
  • Assist workers in removal activities
  • Perform other additional duties required of a Supervisor

All applicants must display confident communication skills to effectively manage a team of asbestos operatives.

Successful candidates must have at least two years’ experience and hold up to date relevant certification, including current medicals and supervisor/ operative certificates, they must hold a full driving licence with towing ability would be preferred, be literate, practical, in good health, and be willing to travel and stay away overnight for occasional periods.

The salary offered is dependent on experience and will be in the range of £130 – £145 per day

Asbestos Removal Trainees

We are also open taking on new operatives with no experience within the industry, but who are willing to undertake any training required.

Job Types: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary:

The salary offered is dependent on experience and is to be discussed with individual candidates.

  • 20 days’ holiday plus statutory Bank Holidays
  • Company pension

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Overtime (including evenings, night-time and weekend work)

Successful candidates must have at willingness to learn, and a drive to undertake training and development courses as required. Ideally you will be literate, practical, in good health, and be willing to travel and stay away overnight for occasional periods.

The Role

With the appropriate training and supervision carry out tasks enabling experience to be gained as you progress to become a fully qualified Asbestos Removal Operative, with the role as described above.
