Hereford Library Asbestos Removal

Hereford Asbestos Services were the preferred contractor for Herefordshire Library in 2016. Our sister company Environmental Management Solutions undertook a refurbishment asbestos survey on the building in September 2015 to identify asbestos ahead of a scheduled refurbishment project. During this survey asbestos was identified above the fixed ceiling in the building, which had not been previously noted.

Due to the nature of the asbestos material in this area, the decision was taken to close the Library by Herefordshire Council, even though the risk was considered low to the public.

Hereford Asbestos Services undertook the removal works on the area above the fixed ceiling. The building was reopened to the public on 31st January, 2017 after HAS had successfully completed the removal work.
