HAS Pledge to Support Mental Health Charity Herefordshire MIND in 2018

Hereford Asbestos Services (HAS) have pledged to show their support for local mental health charity Herefordshire Mind.

HAS were set up in 2011 as Herefordshire’s only licensed asbestos removal contractor. Both companies are based in Rotherwas South Hereford employing around 50 local people.

HAS chose to support Herefordshire Mind because of the fantastic work they do throughout the local community in Herefordshire. One of HAS’s directors for the Jamie Perkins-Best, described the commitment as: ‘a partnership to encourage the awareness of mental health as being as important as physical health. I know that for many of our staff the cause is very close to their hearts, which is why we wanted to work with Herefordshire Mind’.

Herefordshire Mind provides quality support to people experiencing and recovering from mental health problems, whilst raising awareness and promoting understanding about mental health issues. The charity runs a variety of services throughout Herefordshire, including groups, courses, community support and residential care. They believe in finding positive ways to make people feel valued and to enable them to live the lives they want, as fully as possible.

2018 marks Herefordshire Mind’s 40th Birthday, which they are celebrating throughout the year. Most recently, they ran a successful concert at St. John’s Methodist Church, Hereford and are currently putting together plans for a community art project at the Ledbury Poetry Festival in July, plus much more yet to be announced.
