Licensed Asbestos Removal

The removal of higher-risk asbestos containing materials including sprayed asbestos coatings, asbestos insulation, asbestos lagging and asbestos insulating board (AIB) should only be undertaken by a licensed asbestos removal contractor such as HAS. ASB5 Notification of Asbestos Work must be completed and received by the HSE 14 days before the asbestos work is due to begin.

Workers who are employed in removing higher risk asbestos-containing materials must:

Have specific training and follow specific working practices.

Use sophisticated respiratory equipment

Legally required to be under regular medical surveillance.

It is because of the nature of this work that licensing is required from the Health and Safety Executive. HAS is licensed by the HSE. We hold a 3 year license and full insurance to undertake all levels of licensed asbestos removal work.

Products normally considered licensed include asbestos spray coating on walls, beams and columns. Asbestos insulation board (AIB), asbestos pipe lagging and loose asbestos in ceiling or floor cavities.
