Professional Standards

At HAS our commitment to quality and safety to the highest of standards is paramount. This is demonstrated by our commitment to gaining safety and quality certifications and accreditation of the highest degree. HAS follows stringent guidelines set by the HSE and as a licensed contractor for removal of asbestos HAS follows the HSE’s HSG 247 guide. Asbestos removal work is strictly legislated due to its hazardous nature if proper quality measures are not adhered to.

HAS believes in the philosophy that uncontrolled removal of asbestos costs lives; using controlled methods of removal saves lives.

HAS also adheres to the Control of Asbestos at work regulations 2002 which requires employees to ensure workers involved in asbestos removal have as reduced exposure as is reasonably practical. HAS do this by always carrying out a full risk assessment before starting any work where asbestos is present. HAS also makes a full assessment of the likely exposure to employees and prepares a plan of work (POW). This is all provided in writing.

HAS became a member of the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) in 2014 and has remained a member ever since. Member asbestos removal companies participate in the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association Site Audit Accreditation Scheme to ensure they are working to the highest standards in the asbestos removal industry. The membership and strict compliance with ARCA’s audit procedures further demonstrates Hereford Asbestos Services commitment to safety and best practice within the construction industry.

HAS is also a member of other safety bodies including Constructionline, Safe Contractor, CHAS, Alcumus and Hereford Health & Safety which guide and govern safety excellence and ensure we maintain our quality promise.
